METRUM Construction Solutions

Service Terms, Cancellation & Refund Policy

For accepted projects: Cancellation, payment, and turnaround periods start at the commencement time METRUM confirms in writing. Submitting a website inquiry is free and does not establish a paid service agreement. The applicable terms will be provided with the written Service Proposal & Agreement before the client accepts or pays.

1. Services and estimated turnaround

ServiceStarting feeEstimated turnaroundCancellation period
Trade-Specific Estimate$149+3–5 business days36 consecutive hours
Preliminary Project Budget$199+3–5 business days36 consecutive hours
Detailed Construction Estimate$499+5–8 business days60 consecutive hours
Preconstruction Planning$899+8–12 business days96 consecutive hours

Starting fees and turnaround ranges are estimates. The scope, price, exclusions, and target delivery date are confirmed in writing for each accepted project.

2. Official project commencement

A project commences only after the scope, deliverables, price, and terms are agreed; the Service Proposal & Agreement is accepted; the initial payment is received; and sufficient documentation is available. METRUM confirms the commencement timestamp in writing. Turnaround and cancellation periods begin at that timestamp, whether or not hands-on work has begun.

3. Payments

Trade-Specific and Preliminary services require 100% upfront. Detailed and Preconstruction services require 50% upfront, with the remaining 50% due upon actual completion and issuance of a final payment request, before release of final deliverables. No fee is required to inquire or request a proposal. Express written project-specific arrangements may differ.

4. Cancellation charges within the cancellation period

Clients may request cancellation in writing within the applicable 36-, 60-, or 96-hour period, measured in consecutive hours including weekends and holidays. For qualifying client-initiated cancellations within the period, METRUM’s standard cancellation charge is 50% of the total agreed service fee. METRUM retains that amount, refunds any payment exceeding it, and waives any unpaid balance attributable to the canceled service, subject to applicable law and any client remedies that cannot be waived.

5. Discretionary 24-hour exception

For Detailed Construction Estimate and Preconstruction Planning only, METRUM may, at its discretion, approve a full refund if written cancellation is received within the first 24 consecutive hours after commencement. This is not an automatic entitlement.

6. Late cancellation and early completion

The cancellation window closes at the earlier of its stated deadline or actual completion of the contracted deliverables together with issuance of a final payment request (or written ready-for-delivery notice for fully prepaid services). After that point, METRUM’s standard policy is that the full agreed service fee remains payable for client-initiated cancellation or abandonment of the underlying project, subject to applicable law, any legally required mitigation, and METRUM’s performance obligations and client remedies.

7. Revisions, corrections, and scope changes

METRUM corrects its own errors or omissions within the original approved scope at no charge for all services. Trade-Specific and Preliminary services include no client-requested revisions. Detailed and Preconstruction services include one reasonable minor in-scope revision requested within 14 days of delivery. New trades, revised plans, and material scope additions require a separately approved fee.

8. Delays and deliverables

METRUM will communicate anticipated delays and updated target dates. Missing information, changed scope, and unforeseen complexity may affect scheduling. Estimates are planning and bidding support, not guarantees of final construction cost or bid success. METRUM does not provide licensed architecture or engineering services.

9. Written requests, refunds, and client protections

Cancellation requests must be emailed to contact@metrumcs.com and identify the client, project, and intent to cancel. The time the written request is received determines whether it falls within the cancellation period. Approved refunds are initiated within 10 business days of approval unless applicable law requires otherwise; bank posting times may vary. These cancellation terms do not remove remedies for METRUM’s material breach, failure to perform, or other rights that cannot be waived. If METRUM cannot fulfill its obligations, an appropriate remedy, including partial or full refund where warranted, will be assessed.

10. Agreement and applicability

These standard terms are incorporated into a client’s signed Service Proposal & Agreement when expressly referenced and provided before acceptance. Express project-specific written terms control where legally permitted. A website inquiry alone does not create a paid service agreement.
